How do you give your volunteers the recognition they deserve?
Nominate them for a GIVE Award!

The GIVE Awards will be presented at a luncheon ceremony annually the conclusion of "Reinventing Mississippi: The Conference for Nonprofits and Volunteers."

3. JUDGING CRITERIA

Information provided highlights the nominee's volunteer activities in 2009. Includes the volunteer's efforts, accomplishments, who the service impacted, how the service impacted these people, and why the volunteer deserves special recognition.

  • Volunteer's service requires a meaningful commitment of time and effort.
  • Volunteer's service addresses a real community need and/or enhances the quality of life of Mississippians.
  • Volunteer's service involves acts of generosity and kindness.
  • "Extra credit" for innovation (service that has met a community need in a manner that is both effective and out-of-the-ordinary).
  • "Extra credit" for challenge (service performed despite significant obstacles).
  • "Extra credit" for "green" initiatives (developing or enhancing environmentally friendly service, laws, policies, communities, and workplaces).
