Help A Family Return to Safe, Sustainable Housing -- Adopt A Katrina Family Today!

The Mississippi Case Management Consortium (MCMC) has time-limited resources – we need your help to get displaced families back into safe, sustainable housing.  Whether you can sponsor a family at $100, $500, or even $1000, every dollar counts. It's simple -- visit the Mississippi Case Management Consortium’s Adopt-A-Family website (www.AdoptAKatrinaFamily.org) and find a family that "catches your eye" and whose needs fit your budget. Contact the agency responsible for that family, and a representative will walk you through the simple steps to complete the necessary paperwork.  Contributions to MCMC Affiliate organizations to sponsor families are fully tax deductible.  (Consult your tax professional for details.)

Want to Adopt A Family, but think you don’t have the money to do it?  The MCMC Adopt A Family program welcomes donations of all sizes, from $50 to $50,000. But don’t get discouraged, get creative!  Here are just a few of the creative ways to Adopt A Family...

•    Pool funds with your church or synagogue congregation to Adopt A Family
•    Host a bake sale/car wash/lemonade stand to collect money to Adopt A Family
•    Ask friends and family to pool funds to Adopt A Family
•    Ask your sorority/fraternity/lodge/social club sisters and brothers help you Adopt A Family
•    Instead of gifts for your birthday or anniversary, ask for donations to Adopt A Family
•    Use your income tax refund to Adopt A Family
•    Put $10 per week into an envelope; in just 6 months you’ll have $250 to Adopt A Family
•    Call the Affiliate responsible for the family you want to adopt and ask about partial sponsorships (many partial sponsorships = 1 Adopted Family!)
•    Call the Affiliate agency responsible for the family you want to adopt to ask about donating building materials or volunteer labor

Whatever you do, do it soon.  Help get a Katrina family home!
